Reflect: Showing up for yourself isn’t always loud - but it’s always powerful

The best thing I’ve done for myself this past month? I showed up. For me.
Not for a deadline. Not for someone else's expectations. But for myself.

Showing up looks different for everyone. For me, it looked like lacing up my shoes, getting my body moving, and choosing to prioritize the life I want to live—not just the one I’m used to living.

Yes, the endorphins are great. But honestly? It’s the commitment that changes things. The quiet, daily promise I keep to myself. That moment I say, “You matter”—and then act like it. That’s where the power is.

And let’s be real—most of us were never taught how to put ourselves first. In fact, many of us still think it’s selfish or indulgent to even try. But here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:

💥 No one respects someone who doesn’t show up for themselves. Not truly.

So, let me ask you gently—but firmly:
How long will you keep putting yourself in the backseat?

Here are a few things I’ve started doing to show up for me. Steal them, tweak them, try them on:

  1. Saying “no” when something does not serve me.

  2. Holding myself accountable through self-designed challenges.

  3. Standing strong in rooms where my voice shakes.

  4. Owning my interests instead of invalidating them to fit the larger status quo.

  5. Not limiting myself from living my life in the best way that I can.
